Pauline is a founding Partner of Pension Partners LLP, a specialist pension law firm that acts as consultant to Hill Hofstetter LLP on pension matters.
Pauline has over twenty years’ experience in advising corporate entities, public authorities, trustees and unions in respect of occupational pension schemes. During her career she has advised on every aspect of occupational pension schemes, and has particular expertise in dealing with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and group reorganisations.
Clients applaud Pauline for her clear and unambiguous advice, attention to detail, and practical approach. In an area of law that is fraught with complexity, she seeks solutions to the problems that arise, and tries to minimise the impact of pension legislation.
Examples of legal experience
- Advising venture capitalists in respect of the “moral hazard” provisions of the Pensions Act 2004, liaising with the Pensions Regulator, and obtaining clearance.
- Assisting a corporate client in removing its liabilities in respect of a final salary pension scheme, putting in place a scheme apportionment arrangement, and obtaining clearance.
- Negotiating a withdrawal arrangement on behalf of a corporate client, prior to its exiting the pension scheme.

- Prior to becoming a barrister, Pauline embarked on a career as a re-insurance broker. During this period she worked in Lloyds, placing American treaty business. She is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.In 1992 Pauline advised the National Union of Journalists in respect of the Mirror Group pension schemes, following the death of Robert Maxwell. She has worked both in London and Birmingham, where she has been a partner since 2000.Whilst at Hammonds, Pauline was responsible for the national precedent database, and was also the national training partner for the pensions department.Pauline is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, and the National Association of Pension Funds.
