Ann is a partner in the Commercial Disputes team. She has 20 years experience in handling a broad range of disputes principally in the IT sector, the food sector and the manufacturing sector. Ann advises clients on a broad range of issues, from product recall to interpretation of complex software agreements, complex fraud issues and general contractual interpretation.

Ann has extensive experience in all aspects of court applications, most notably injunctions (whether defending such applications brought or indeed pursuing them). Ann has also participated, with clients, in more than 100 mediations as well as numerous arbitrations. Ann is regularly involved in issues concerning the interpretation of different laws and the conflict of laws.

Chambers UK legal directory 2009 describes Ann as “…utterly brilliant – her straight-talking, no-nonsense attitude really gets results.”

Examples of legal experience

  • Acting for a pharmaceutical company in defending a multi-million claim brought in relation to complex issues of economic duress, a previous settlement under arbitration proceedings and quantification and remoteness of loss.
  • Acting for a European logistics company in relation to a multi-million pound claim brought for alleged wrongful termination of contract and taking the matter to a successful mediation.
  • Acting on behalf of a storage company in complex legal and practical issues arising out of a fire, including challenging insurers in terms of cover and assisting the client in a strategy to minimise value of claims (in some cases group claimants) to be paid out.
