Ranjit is head of the Employment team at Hill Hofstetter. She advises employers on all aspects of UK employment law, both contentious and non-contentious.

Ranjit is a keen advocate who regularly represents clients in Employment Tribunals throughout the UK. She is also a qualified mediator and regularly advises clients on resolving disputes at mediation.

Although Ranjit is particularly well known for her advocacy skills, she also advises clients on non-contentious matters including employment issues arising from corporate deals, TUPE transfers and redundancy programmes.

According to the 2011 edition of the legal directory Chambers & Partners Ranjit wins particular praise for her advocacy skills, she is “superbly knowledgeable, confident and quick-witted”, while the 2010 edition of the Legal 500 directory describes her as “very commercially focused.”

Examples of legal experience include:

• Successfully defending a manufacturing company in a claim for constructive dismissal and breach of contract brought by a former managing director.
• Advising the UK subsidiary of a US company on the implications of TUPE following a change of service provider.
• Successfully undertaking the advocacy on behalf of an airline in a whistle blowing claim and successfully defending the subsequent appeal before the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
