Ellie is a member of the Commercial Disputes team. She advises clients on a broad range of commercial disputes including contractual and shareholder disputes, regulatory matters as well as construction claims. She works with national and international companies, mainly in the manufacturing, technology and engineering sectors. Much of her work has an international or cross-border aspect, with a particular focus on companies with a German connection.

Examples of legal experience

Ellie has acted for clients in litigation in many different types of proceedings, and has recently worked on:

• Contesting the jurisdiction of the English courts on behalf of a large German manufacturer.
• Achieving settlement of a shareholder dispute for German investors in an English technology company.
• Defending a US technology company against a breach of warranty claim.
• Advising on multi-million dollar delay and disruption claims in the automotive industry.
• Negotiating a multi-million Euro, long-term supply contract for a German manufacturer of carbon components.

• Ellie was brought up and educated in Germany and is bilingual in English and German. Ellie has co-authored a book on risk management in construction projects (Pinnells & Pinnells, Risikomanagement in Internationalen Projekten, Gabler Verlag 2007). She travels to Germany on a regular basis.
