The Commercial Disputes group has extensive experience of dispute resolution with international dimensions. We have a proven track record in project managing large scale, complex international litigation and arbitration, including co-ordinating local lawyers where advice is needed in other jurisdictions

Our lawyers include fluent French and German speakers, with specialist experience in representing French and German companies in UK and international disputes.

Europe

  • Acting for a global electronics manufacturer in a multi-million dollar dispute with Norwegian and US companies concerning an offshore project. We project managed experts and witnesses from Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
  • Representing a German medical device supplier in a multi-million Euro dispute including arbitration in Frankfurt.
  • Advising a French oil company following a catastrophic event at a UK site.
  • Advising an international investment bank in a claim by an offshore trust in relation to a multi-million pound investment in the Dubai property market.
  • Assisting a Swiss bank trustee in successfully resolving a claim by beneficiaries of a £125m Indian trust that had been ongoing for 15 years before our involvement.
  • Advising principals and agents, including major overseas principals exporting goods to and in the EU, on numerous agency and distribution disputes in EU countries.

  • Representing a major US pharmaceutical company in a US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation into payments made to European healthcare professionals.
  • Defending a US pharmaceuticals company facing claims for alleged defects in one of its leading drugs, including managing substantial e-discovery and interfacing with comparable US litigation proceedings.
  • Defending a large US multi-national against multi-party claims for industrial disease, which could lead to a multi-million pound liability.
